Pretty: More Classic than Black

Pretty never goes out of style. Fashion is just one of the many tools women use to feel pretty. If there was a Fashion Manifesto, pretty could well be written as one of the main points. It’s safe to say that the recent obsessions with pretty flowers, ruffles and lace is more a renaissance of feminine beauty rather than a passing trend. Designers like Pamela Thompson will tell you that everything in fashion happens in cycles anyway, so sticking to what you love is the best way to develop your own style. Since being introduced to vintage clothing in high school and experiencing the 90’s New York club scene, you can see the influences in her collections, part classic beauty, part party girl.

What’s even more interesting about Ms. Thompson’s work is her approach to fashion design. In an industry notorious for elitism, she approaches fashion with kindness and sharing, freely giving inspiring fashion designers tips on becoming a designer and sharing her experiences designing for Betsy Johnson, Heatherette and Anna Sui.

You can find her collection on Ravenstyle & Couture Candy. I hope to see more soon!

  1. Pamela Thompson is my true inspiration. She “forced” my to dive deeper into selfmade-fashion stuff production and I’m really appreciate that a lot.

  2. her interview is great. but scary. so much hard work. i believe it. i can’t believe i even have any friends left with the amount of time i work. scary.

  3. THIS is what makes me really truly covet. I can’t just enjoy the beauty of these — I want to BE them!
