Since beginning Independent Fashion Bloggers, I’ve been very protective of this blog community. What we have here is very special. While writing tips on blog improvement are important, like many of you, I get a lot of emails from PR people pitching services and free goodies to the community. Until earlier this week, I’ve always declined them citing IFB is not about the latest discount codes at XYZ boutique… etc. it’s important to assess whether or not it has relevance to the IFB Manifesto.
But what is the IFB Manifesto?
IFB is an online community of fashion bloggers looking to build a better blogging experience. IFB is here to help bloggers become familiar with the ins and outs of the industry, by giving the community a place to go for information and access other bloggers to talk to and ask questions.
So what I’d like to ask:
What do you need to build a better blogging experience?

First of all, I want to thank all of you who for sticking with me through this move…
IFB has certainly gone through some growing pains, but with this new move to IndependentFashionBloggers.org it’s now possible to expand more freely beyond the confines of the traditional blog format. We now have forums for you to converse with other bloggers, to introduce yourself, to ask questions, to ask for help, to tell stories. There is a small list of resources to help new bloggers get started. Also, the new design should make it easier for you to contribute to IFB…

This is just a short announcement.
IFB will be moving to another location in the next few weeks. I realize that we have fallen behind on membership badges and links… and thanks to all of you, we’ve really just outgrown blogger.
More will be revealed, but for now, I just want to let all of you who have requested IFB membership to hang on, just a little bit longer and there will be better community!
No, I have not sold IFB.. it’s still going to be ad free, it’s not owned by anybody but all of us

INDEPENDENT FASHION BLOGGERS is a blog in reaction to corporate networks and media companies springing up faster than I can keep track of. Most of us are not business people, and are not familiar with the ins and outs of the industry, and are often left without knowing where to go for information and who to talk to and ask questions.
I don’t have the answers, just like many of you, I have questions that together we can all figure out in a safe and open environment.
INDEPENDENT FASHION BLOGGERS is not…
a corporation
against advertising
against blogging networks
communist, capitalist, poorly dressed… etc..
While IFB is a small community of bloggers, we like to keep it as free and open as possible. Anyone operating an independently owned fashion blog can join. Here are the requirements:
- Your blog must be about fashion
- Your blog must be independently owned
- Your fashion blog must be two months old
- You must have written more than 20 posts and updated within the last 2 months
Any blogs that have not updated in 6 months will be considered ‘dead’ and will be removed from the link list.
That’s it! Now all you have to do is email us at:
